Families Bridging the Gap Together 2010

Dear parents of FFM,

We have a special opportunity for you and your child to come together and learn how to communicate and understand each other in a more meaningful and wholesome way.

We at FFM would like to encourage all of our families to attend this special family event, sponsored by both the New Jersey Youth Pastors Network and The Korean Church Council of New Jersey, on May 8th, Saturday.

Dr. Josephine Kim, PhD. is a lecturer at Harvard Graduate School and  is a gifted communicator as well as a terrific bridge-maker serving to better connect the generations as one cohesive family, united in love – understanding and appreciating each other.  Her faith in Jesus is more than evident in her message as well as many of her stories.  Come, listen and be encouraged with us.

* More detailed information is available at FFM web site www.ffmchodae.org or you can also click the above image.

Greetings Firm Foundation Parents.

It is our desire to support you in carrying out one of the greatest callings God has placed upon your life; to be the best representative of God to your children. Therefore, we would like to keep you informed of our FFM News through this News Letter periodically. In it, you will find all of our upcoming activities, past events, and future plans concerning Firm Foundation Ministry.

Thank you for your past support and we look forward to serving God’s Kingdom together in the coming new year.

Blessings,

Pastor David Seo and FFM Staff

Praise God!

Many of our students were able to participate in the church-wideLove Thy Neighbor - Chodae Mercy Ministryon the 12th of December. It was wonderful to see our students working hand-in-hand with the disabled adult volunteers from Spectrum for Living in wrapping Christmas gifts for the Rockland Children Psychiatric Center. True spirit of Christmas was witnessed on this day.

Twelve of our Student Class Representatives volunteered at the Community Food Bank of  New Jersey on the 19th of December. This is the central food distribution hub for majority of New Jersey, servicing over 8000+ soup kitchens, food pantries, and other outreach programs.  The vigor with which our students tackled the task was unparalleled. Our FFM student leaders were truly God’s hands and feet in action. We look forward to providing more opportunities such as these in the future for the rest of our FFM family members to experience.

World Vision Gift Donation – This year, instead of giving ourselves an end of the year gift, FFM has decided to sponsor World Vision with the purchase of a Dairy Trio Gift in the amount of $680. This gift will provide three families with a cow, a goat, and a sheep. These three farm animals will produce enough milk to provide the recipient families with fresh milk, curd, and financial means of support for years to come.  It is with great pleasure that we inform you that Firm Foundation students donated a total of $1,880.00!! That’s 3X the target amount!!  Praise God!!  Many of our students gave out of their own Christmas funds, and savings with love and compassion.

UPCOMING EVENTS and PROGRAMS

WINTER RETREAT 2010!!  It’s that time of the year again.  It’s time to put away everything and to come before God with open hearts, mind, and soul.  This year’s theme is: “BROKENNESS COMPLETE.”  Many of us are hurting and still walking around with past hurts and pain.  It is our desire that through this retreat God’s healing and Restoring power will be evidenced and experienced by all who attend.

The dates are: January 29th to January 31st (Friday Evening to Sunday Afternoon). The Cost is $80/student.

Registration DEADLINE is JANUARY 10, 2010 (late registrations will NOT be accepted – NO exceptions).

For Registration Form and more Information please click here: WWW.FFMCHODAE.ORG

FFM Food Drive  FFM has partnered with a local Food pantry in Hillsdale, NJ called Helping Hand Food Pantry.

We are currently collecting the following items on Sunday’s:  Canned Fruit & Vegetables, Canned Meat & Tuna, Applesauce, Ketchup, Rice, Flour, Sugar, Vegetable Oil, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Hot & Cold Cereal or money donations (please indicate on separate envelope “for Helping Hand Donation”).

It is our desire that the students would begin to develop and mature in their capacity for compassion as they reach out to those in need with God’s love regularly.    The collection bin will be next to the welcoming table on Sundays in the Youth Sanctuary (3rd floor)
